Christmas shirts have a problem no other shirt has: they get worn perhaps three times, then sit in a drawer for eleven months. That changes what makes a good one. Fit matters less than usual. What matters is whether it reads across a crowded room, whether it photographs well, and whether the joke still works next December.
These are 249 designs from $20, sorted by who you are buying for rather than by theme. Order by the end of November — everything here is printed after you order, so production time comes before shipping time.
Buy early, and here is the actual reason
Print-on-demand shirts take two to three weeks door to door in a normal month. December is not a normal month: print queues fill and couriers slow at exactly the same time. A shirt ordered on the 10th may well arrive after the 25th, and there is no expedited option that fixes a full print queue.
If you are reading this in November, you are fine. If it is December, buy something else and give this next year.
For the one who does the whole Christmas
Somebody in every household runs Christmas — the food, the timings, the presents nobody else remembered. And somebody else does rather less. Both are here.
1. Once A Year I'm Hustlin'
Santa working flat out for one night a year. Read as a joke about the person who does all the December labour, it lands rather harder than it looks.
See details
2. Working On And Off
Tired Christmas lights and a pun about working on and off. Best for someone who has spent an evening testing a string bulb by bulb.
See details
3. Last Minute Shopper
For the organiser of a different kind: everything done, on the 23rd, somehow. They know exactly who they are.
See details
4. Jingle Then Nap
For the other end of the household — the one who helps for precisely as long as the carols last.
See detailsMatching shirts for the whole family
The "Most Likely To" designs are built as a set. Each person gets their own line, and the joke only works when the whole family is standing in the photo together — buy them as a group, not one at a time.
5. Most Likely To Be Watching Christmas Movies
The easiest line to assign. Every family knows who this is before the parcel is open.
See details
6. Most Likely To Break an Ornament
Gentle enough to hand to the clumsy one without starting an argument, which is the real test of a family set.
See details
7. Most Likely To Eat Cookies
Usually goes to a child or a grandparent, and both wear it with pride.
See details
8. Christmas Morning Squad
For families who would rather wear one matching design than a set of different jokes. Reads cleanly in a group photo.
See details
9. The Christmas Cookie Crew
A baking-day shirt rather than a Christmas Day one — worn in the kitchen in the week before.
See detailsFor the family joker
These get worn once at a gathering, photographed, and remembered for years. That is the whole job — so pick the one that reads fastest across a room.
10. Nuttier Than Your Grandma's Fruitcake
Fruitcake is the safest target at Christmas because nobody defends it. Works on almost anyone, which is rare for a joke shirt.
See details
11. Devil Hand Horns Sleigher Santa
Heavy metal Santa throwing horns. Narrow, loud, and exactly right for one specific person in the family.
See details
12. Merry Christmas Takeout Noodles
Christmas greeting built around a takeout box. For households where December 25th dinner is not turkey, which is more of them than the adverts suggest.
See details
13. Ninjabread Man
A gingerbread man in a ninja mask. A pun that works on children and adults equally, which is harder to find than it sounds.
See detailsFor dads and grandads
The hardest people on most lists to buy for. Both of these do the sensible thing and make the joke about the person rather than asking him to perform one.
14. Papa Claus
A Santa hat and "Papa Claus". Works for a dad or a grandad, which saves a decision when both are on the list.
See details
15. World's Tallest Elf
For the tallest person in the family photo, who is always put at the back. A joke he has almost certainly made about himself already.
See detailsFor pet owners
Pet Christmas shirts get worn the longest, because the joke does not expire on Boxing Day. Check the breed and the colouring before buying — owners notice.
16. Santa Dachshund
A black and tan dachshund tangled in lights. Colouring matters here — dachshunds come in several and an owner will notice if it is wrong.
See details
17. Corgi Santa Sleigh
Corgis pulling Santa's sleigh. Corgi owners are a specific and devoted crowd, and this is aimed squarely at them.
See details
18. Meowy Catmas
Cats climbing the tree. Every cat owner has lived through this, which is why it lands better than a generic cat design.
See details
19. Christmas Movies Dog
A dog settled in for a Christmas film. For the owner whose dog is the reason they stay in on Christmas Eve.
See details
20. Rabbit Naughty List
A lop-eared rabbit in a Santa hat. Rabbit owners get almost nothing made for them at Christmas.
See details
21. Christmas Turtle
A sea turtle in a Santa hat. Aimed at coastal Christmases rather than snowy ones, and one that suits a warm-weather December.
See detailsAnimal puns, for people who love one particular animal
Not pet owners — people with a favourite animal. A pun lands better than a picture here, because the pun is the part they will repeat to everyone.
22. All of the Otter Reindeer
An otter in antlers and a pun that reads immediately. Safe for any age.
See details
23. Fa La Llama Christmas Pun
Fa la llama. A pun most people groan at and then repeat, which is exactly the job.
See details
24. Holiday Capybara
A capybara in a scarf and lights. Capybaras have a devoted following that surprises everyone who is not part of it.
See details
25. Santa Claws
Lobsters in Santa hats. For coastal families, and anyone who has eaten lobster at Christmas.
See details
26. Great White Christmas
A shark and a carol pun. Marine-life fans get both halves of the joke.
See details
27. Tree Rex
A T-Rex wrapped in lights. The dinosaur person in a family starts young and never stops.
See detailsFor the hobby they will not shut up about
The strongest Christmas gift is usually not a Christmas gift at all — it is their hobby with tinsel on it. Name the hobby exactly: a golfer and a pickleball player will not thank you for each other's shirt.
28. Golf Club Christmas Tree
A Christmas tree built out of golf clubs. Golfers do not stop being golfers in December.
See details
29. Oh Christmas Tee
A golf tee and a carol pun. Pairs with the golf-club tree if there are two golfers on the list.
See details
30. Merry Fishmas
Santa holding a fish and a pun — the lighter of the two fishing designs.
See details
31. Santa's Favorite Fisherman
Reads as a compliment rather than a joke, which suits a gift from a partner or a child.
See details
32. Ho Ho Hold My Paddle
Santa with a pickleball paddle. A fast-growing crowd with very little made for it.
See details
33. Critmas D20 Die
A twenty-sided die and a Merry Critmas pun. Only tabletop role-players will read it, which is precisely the point.
See details
34. Gingerbread Man Running Team
For runners doing a Christmas race — and a nod to the gingerbread man, who was always being chased.
See details
35. Santa BBQ Master
For the person who grills in December whatever the weather is doing.
See detailsFor the science crowd
Science puns only work on people who read them correctly, which is exactly why they land as gifts. Check the field first — chemists, biologists and physicists do not share jokes.
36. Ho (3) Santa Christmas
HO³ — Santa's laugh written as a chemistry expression. Only funny to people who read it correctly, which is the audience.
See details
37. Chemistree
A Christmas tree built from lab glassware. For chemists, science teachers and anyone who has worked a bench.
See details
38. Snowman Stem Cells
A biology pun rather than a chemistry one — worth knowing which science they actually do.
See detailsFor someone who wants it plain
Not everyone wants a punchline on their chest. These say Merry Christmas and stop there, which makes them the safe choice when you do not know the person well.
39. Merry Christmas Wishes
Straightforward and unlikely to offend anyone. The default pick for a colleague, or a Secret Santa where you drew a name you barely know.
See details
40. Happy Christmas Star Bolt
Bold red text and a star. Reads clearly in photographs, which matters more than it sounds for a shirt that mostly exists to be photographed.
See detailsFor someone for whom it is a holy day
Two designs name the religious meaning of Christmas directly. Both are sincere rather than jokey — right for the person who goes to midnight mass, and the wrong choice as a neutral Secret Santa.
41. Oh Come Let Us Adore Him
Names the religious side of the day in the words of a carol. Buy it for someone for whom that is the point.
See details
42. Jesus Reason Season
A cross and a Christmas tree with the reason-for-the-season line. A faith design, best for a churchgoer rather than as a general gift.

A better idea than a Christmas shirt
A Christmas design is worn three times. A shirt about the thing they are actually obsessed with gets worn all year, and usually lands better as a gift because it says you were paying attention.
There is a page for each of those subjects — nursing specialties, dog breeds down to the crosses, trades split by the job title people actually use. Start at the subject guide if you know their obsession, or the dog breed page if they have a dog they will not stop talking about.
Sizing and ordering
- Unisex tees run true to size. Size up one for a relaxed fit over a jumper, which is how most of these get worn.
- Dark colours photograph better under indoor Christmas lighting, which is where these shirts spend their working life.
- Buying a family set? Order everyone's at once. Separate orders can arrive days apart.
- Order by the end of November. Printed to order, so the queue matters more than the courier.
- Checkout happens on the print partner's site — sizes, colours, payment and delivery are handled there.
