Photographers do not think of themselves as photographers. They think of themselves as the specific thing they shoot, and the disciplines have less in common than outsiders assume — a portrait photographer and a macro photographer share a camera mount and very little else.

Which discipline to buy for

If you have seen their work, you already know: faces, insects and flowers, staged concepts, or aerial. Buy that one. If you have not, the general photography design is the honest choice — a wrong discipline reads worse than a broad one, because it means you guessed.

Drone flying sits slightly apart and gets its own page. Plenty of drone pilots do not consider themselves photographers at all.
